A lovely piece of nostalgia, a diner that our parents have took us to in the 70's! The GEN Z crowd needs to stay away I if they're going to grade it on being politically correct nitpick Scottish heritage and there's one review by someone named Scarlett. She just needs to move California and be done with it. I love Trump decorations ... clearly these are good southern people with values and morals. Would advise the tofu Kamala crowd to stay away if they're looking for organic thin, lavender tea, and tofu on the salad bar. You were born in the south your parents places like this when you were small. You will love the tart. In the morning
I went to see a friend and this is the first restaurant he took me to. The service was fast and friendly and my food was cooked perfectly. I got the 2 eggs over medium, toast, hashbrowns and bacon. Bacon was nice and crispy. Potatoes could have been a little more crispy but I still ate it all. Unfortunately they only sell coffee by the jug thing, not by cup and because I don't drink coffee my friend didnt want to buy the whole thing for himself. Lol truly my bad. But I enjoyed it and the decor. And it seems like this is a local place for my friend to get Breakfast all the time so you will always have a regular customer there with him.
The Tartan is a favorite place of ours. Every time we are in Linville, North Carolina we make a point to eat breakfast here. Their biscuits are out of this world! The food is always hot and very tasty. Our server was very sweet and very attentive. If you've never been here, you should go just for a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Second time here after going to the Beacon Heights Trail. The food is mostly good. Their fruit option is straight out of a can. Portions are a little on the smaller side in my opinion. The service was okay but not great. The young man that checked us out wasn't pleasant at all. Seemed irritated. Very clearly ran and operated by Trump supporters. I don't have an issue with that as I hate politics but others may not like it much.
I love this restaurant. It has excellent breakfast and lunch food. And the only thing inhibiting about it is the liberal minded Yankees that occupy valuable table space in the restaurant!
